Satisfaction
Buying products and services like ours on the internet
has the advantage of convenience, and indeed products like those offered by
photophysical.co.nz would not have been possible just a few years ago, but there
is one disadvantage, most of you can't come into our shop to see the books and
calendars before you buy. To solve this problem we have a full money back right
of return so if you receive a product from us and don't like it, just send it
back, and we will refund the money. If, for example, you are thinking of lots
of calendars try one first and if you do like it we will credit the higher cost
to the bulk rate of the number you buy, alternatively if its not suitable we
will refund your money on return of the calendar.
Software
Requirements for
using photocalendar software
A computer running either Windows 2000 (SP4 or later),
Windows XP (SP 1 or later), or Mac OSX (v10.2.8 or later) (and Vista for Photocalendar)
with at least 128Mb of RAM.
As from the 1st of October 2007 Photocalendar has been
upgraded for Microsoft Vista but the current Photobook Software, which is due
for a substantial upgrade, is not Vista compliant.
Other Recommendations
- It is recommended to have approximately 70Mb of hard
disk space - this will vary depending on the size and quantity of photos used
in the book.
- Photos saved as JPEG (.jpg) files. TIFF (.tiff &
.tif ) files are OK but as most digital cameras use RGB .jpg files we have
optimised our system for these.
- As a minimum, digital cameras should be capable of
taking images of 2 mega pixels or greater - always use the highest quality
settings available. If scanning, files should be 200dpi for an 6"x 8"
picture.
- A printer is required if you wish to see a proof sheet.
- "Publish" files saved by the software can
only be printed by photophysical.com and Microfilm Digital Print
- A CD reader writer
Photophysical software is exclusive and has been developed
by us for use in this range of products. It is not available from any other
source. The books, cards and calendars produced by our software cannot be printed on any standard home or office printer.
Printing System
The digital printing system used at photophysical.com
is one of the most advanced colour digital printing machines available in the
world. It has a very high resolution operating at 2400dpi. The machine has a
the widest possible colour gamut and prints using a "dry ink" which
is very durable and highly fade resistant.
Images are processed through an EFI raster image processor
optimised for RGB .jpg files which are produced by most digital cameras. The
system is new and uses the best technology possible to print colour-true images
but no active colour management is used. This means that your images will be
processed by advanced up to date equipment but that each image is not adjusted
for colour accuracy by an operator.
Paper is high quality acid free, with long lasting qualities
and is produced in a european mill which operates to high environmental standards.
